Dreaming of a Post Apocalyptic Family This series was inspired by the work of surrealist photographers of the 1930s, such as Maurice Tabard and Man Ray. I wanted to achieve a look that was similar to stacking images, but using reflection, transparency, and light to achieve these results. I also experimented with longer exposure times to express the "ghost like" movements of the subject. To me, this seemed to be an ideal way to encapsulate a dream in an image. The subject is thus allowed the duality of remaining suspended in constant motion for eternity, and never really moving at all inside the framing of the composition. Those with a careful eye may recognize this particular example of rope work is influenced by the ancient Japanese Art of Shibari. While this is not something that is part of my waking life, It has a special place that torments my soul in my dreams. This final series is about dreams and not fully understanding where they start and end. The point of ent

Renewing their Vows Tara and Rob Bush #Old Bush and Chain After 10 years of Marriage, Tara and Rob decided to renew their vows and have the wedding that they never had. Over the years, they've collected a unique bunch of friends that contributed to making this a day to remember. The Subjects from this series are from the Bush Wedding this past weekend. The images are pretty candid, which allowed me to present these unique individuals as athletically to the larger than life characters they truly are. COCKTAIL NOIR Preparations had yet to begin, and the guests would be arriving soon... Just enough time to have some fun! Just a splash of color to get things started... Time for Round One! The effects begin immediately, and colors begin to change...  "Kaleidoscope Eyes" foreshadow the coming events... The guests are yet to arrive...  Color returns to me, but it is too late... Maybe I'll be able to see them before they leave...

Experimenting with Experimental Photography

Experimenting with Experimental Photography What better to do on a rainy Florida Day than play with your camera? EXACTLY!!! To emphasize the results of these techniques, the photos have not been edited in any way. What you see, is what the camera captured! Here are a couple of experimental techniques that I tried out: BUBLE WRAP INSERT The idea was to put a small piece of bublewrap inside the camera to soften the image in an interesting way. I also used a long exposure (30 seconds) and moved the camera every 10 seconds to achieve a double exposure effect. MULTIPLE ZOOM EXPOSURE This technique involved adjusting the zoom in increments over a long exposure time. This ended up being my favorite technique for the day.   COLORED WATER LIGHTS I wanted to play with color in a way similar to a color gel light. I've always liked the effect of a pool light at night, and wanted to investigate it further. I filled ziplock bags with wa
